I made a group on Facebook a while back, take a look...!

The group 'Scoopex' on Facebook was created a while back, and serves as an informal meeting place and whiteboard for members, ex-members, and non-members who are interested in Scoopex past and present... why not stop by and tell us who you are and your connections with Scoopex?

Scoopex attended Little Computer People, a Swedish demo party which is a small but prestigious party for the C64 scene.

After socializing and partying, late on Saturday night it was time for the compos. There were lots of C64 contributions for the demo, music and gfx compos, and also quite a few for other platforms.

Handmade Graphics by Noogman

Noogman drew a picture of Obama for the gfx compo at Breakpoint 2009.

It's a political caricature of a famous US president. The funny thing is, I wrote "Obama made me do it!" in the scroller of my demo *before* I knew what he had drawn... weirrrd... :)

Scoopex released an A500 OCS demo in the Amiga demo compo on Breakpoint 2009.

The organizers said it was OK to upload here and on Pouet, so here is an OCS demo with music and graphics by Uncle Tom and coding by Photon that is competing with some serious AGA/060 demos here on Breakpoint. Get it here first!

SIR leaves

SIR has left Scoopex. Interim organizer is Photon.

SIR just announced that he will no longer be organizer for Scoopex. As a nice guy and someone who tried to get Scoopexians busier, I think I speak for the Scoopex crew when I say: Thank you for the time in Scoopex, nice chats and willingness to stand up for Scoopex. And thank you for the stuff you've been able to do with a sometimes family-time and work-time-afflicted crew!

Finally, V1.0 of the site! Validated and tested working in Opera, Firefox, Safari, Navigator, IE Alternative. Should work fine in IE7, although considering what hoops IE6 runs through in order not to have to show a webpage, I wouldn't get my hopes up.

As you can see, articles like this - posted with the "Add News" link available to members - appear in the Official News pane, while stuff that goes on in the other sections end up in the "Latest Articles" pane, to give visitors at-a-glance information.
